Robert R. Barrimond

IT & Strategy Consultant

Throughout his career, Robert has sought to improve business effectiveness by leveraging information technology and successful training and mentoring for small businesses to Fortune 100 firms.  As an information management strategist he creates value for clients by helping them find, develop, and leverage sources of information to meet their strategic objectives from improving operations to driving competitive advantage.

After graduating from MIT, Robert began his career at Lockheed Martin working in the government sector.  He soon began work as a consultant training and mentoring Fortune 100 companies in information technology.  In 2000, he joined Hewlett Packard as a Solutions Architect.  There he developed multimillion-dollar solutions and mentored personnel at Fortune 100 clients on mission critical information technology systems.  After receiving his MBA from The Wharton School in 2004, Robert focused on wealth management first at UBS then at Abacus, a fee-only high net worth wealth management firm.  There he managed client portfolios on a day-to-day basis and developed portfolio analysis tools to service clients.  After leaving Abacus and a short stint at Oracle in 2009, Robert formed RLB Enterprises LLC to focus entirely on information strategy.  Currently, he also consults to faculty and teaches at The Wharton School.

Robert earned his B.S. in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering from MIT, an M.S.E. in Systems Engineering (Business Systems) from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  Robert is also a 2006 Fellow of the Center for Progressive Leadership.

Robert is active in his community as a board member of EducationWorks, a member of St. Raymond Church of Penafort, and other organizations including The MIT Club of the Delaware Valley, the Pyramid Club, and the National Black MBA Association Philadelphia Chapter.
